STAY WITH ME IN STOCKTON!!! Hahaha, I got you all didn't I. I'm sure I'm going to hear from mom about the heart attack I gave her or something, but I just couldn't resist! So, yes, H.D. and H.B. are staying yet another transfer in the wonderful city of Stockton, whose siren anthem is music to my ears! The assistents told us last night, "How does it feel to be the longest companionship in the mission???" H.D. and I are spending at least 1/3 of our missions together! We are both really excited!
So, Dad... How was hunting? Hows work? When do my nuggies start up again? What's the weather like? Why didn't you get me some elk??? Oh, so guess what! Funny Story:
Big Daddio sent me a Hunting Snack Package last week and it came last Thursday, the same day as district meeting. Every district meeting, our Zone Leaders have started a new newsletter kind of thing for Zone unity and fun. Anyway every week they do a true or false and this week was my week to be spotlighted! My true or false was along the lines of "True or False: Sister Bradfield hunts white tail bucks and was sponsered by Wincherster Rifles." Needless to say, my hunting package couldn't have come at a more opportune time and there were quite a few Elders like "What? Seriously?" and Sister Dastrup played it up even more! I didn't say one word! They are all anxiously waiting to hear if its true or not! :D
Today we went to the temple, which is why we are email so late. It was a crazy day! But it was so great to go back to the temple after so long. It's horrible to go from going once a week to only being able to go once every 3 months and even longer this last time. I can't even imagine what it would be like if I wasn't serving in an area with a temple so I really can't complain! Anyway it was really good.
Thanks for the package. I ate my chocolate in 2 days (Sister Dastrup helped me and now she's making me help her with hers!) and the cookies we're trying to eat sparingly! ;) Thanks for the stationary too!
Next time you send me a package, could you please include Kim's journal she gave me with the elephants on it??? My miracle journal got ruined the other night and some of my entries are gone! It was a sad day but I guess I've learned my lesson!

Buenas Dias Noticias - Another transfer has come and gone and...Hermana Dastrup and I are staying together for another transter! For those of you who don't like to do math, this means that Hermana Dastrup and I will have been companions for at least 1/3 of our missions (6 months.) The assistants told us we are the oldest/longest companionship in the mission. I guess we must be doing something good that the Lord wants to keep us together. We are very excited! I know I wasn't feeling ready to leave. I've got unfinished work to do here in Stockton!
It sounds like most of the zone stayed the same this transfer as well. That's really good! We had an awesome zone last transfer.
Today is transfer p-day and Hermana Dastrup and I are on our way up to the Sacramento Temple. Our friend and member, Hermana Hixson, was excited for the opportunity to take us and come with us to do the work for some of her family. I'm so excited to be going to the temple again. It's been too long since I've last been.
Our investigators are all doing really, really well. Antonio, our friend who was going to be baptized, isn't ready for this week. Hermana Dastrup and I both feel that he's not ready and he has a lot of concerns and doubts. So we are going to push his baptism date at least a couple of weeks, we think.
I am so grateful for this opportunity I have to serve another transfer here in Stockton and with Sister Dastrup. This transfer is going to be the best of them all.
Well, I hope everyone is doing really well and enjoying the cooler weather. I know I am! My wardrobe has become more colorful now because I can actually wear my sweaters. ;) I love you all and I hope you all have a great week!

Arturo Got Baptized!!!
Arturo's Baptism - Hermana Dastrup, Arturo, Hermana Bradfield
Yes indeed! Arturo was finally baptized but he was is so firm in his testimony by now that he didn't have any concerns pop up before hand. The only thing he was worried about was all his friends laughing and making fun of something so special to him because Rafael baptized him. So, instead of Rafael baptizing him, the bishop did it and Arturo was very happy about it! To top all it off, Arturo's German wife who doesn't speak spanish, came to his baptism and to church the next day for his confirmation and receiving the priesthood. I'm pretty sure Arturo's on cloud 9 right now and even better his wife has a lot of questions for us and she's let us teach her the Restoration and we are hoping to teach her the plan of salvation. If she starts going to church with Arturo when she's down here, they'll start going to the english ward and the elders will start teaching her! They are so cool and I have no doubt that in the future, his wife will see the changes in Arturo and follow his example! She has a lot of questions!
Rafael is doing great. He was a little bummed about Arturo but he understood. He's a ward missionary right now but I think thats just a temporary calling to help prepare him for something bigger!!! Oooo... what could it be???
Transfers are next week. So this means that P-day is onTuesday next week which means that we get to go to the temple again! It has been so... long since we've been, I'm going through withdrawals! It's almost cruel to cut the missionaries off when there is a temple so close! But I understand why we can't go all the time too.
I didnt know they were changing addresses. I guess that they are going to tell us next Zone Conference. Sister Dastrup and I think one of us will be getting transfered this time. I don't know if I'm ready to leave Stockton but Sister Dastrup said that she feels at peace now with Arturo getting baptized, like her work here is finished! Maybe it's a sign ;) All I know is that I love all the people here in Stockton and I love working with all of the investigators we have and the members! They are an awesome group!
Well I need to close this so Sister Dastrup can check her email! I love you all and I hope everyone is doing well. Tell Dad and Little Daddio I said Hi and I hope they don't get Skunked this year!

Buenas Dias Noticias - Hola! Buenas Dias familia y amigos. What an awesome week we've had this last week. Our investigators are all doing really well, Arturo was baptized, and our friend, Antonio, wants to be baptized next. The work is progressin here in Stockton, CA. Arturo's baptism was awesome! None of his friends from work came to support him because they don't like the church; but he didn't care too much because his wife came! That's what mattered to him the most. The whole time, leading up to his baptism, his friends and family were all trying to tell him he was wrong; but he told us that he told them, "No! I know it's true. I prayed to find the truth and God sent me the missionaries and I found it on my own!" He prayed and received so many different answers. I've never seen anyone receive answers like Arturo. He's so cool and we are so excited for him.
Antonio is our newest investigator with a baptism date. The missionaries taught him about a year ago, but had to stop because he wouldn't come to church. About a year ago, he fell about 15 feet off of a platform and shattered tons of bones in his shoulders and whatnot, and it's a miracle he's still here. He is way cool and has been reading the Book of Mormon since the Elders came over about a year ago. He came to church yesterday and loved it, and wants to be baptized!
We are going to play frisbee today with the zone. Sister Dastrup is so excited; she loves frisbee! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great week! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!

Great Weekend, Huh?
This last weekend was Awesome wasn't it? I loved conference! I wrote more about Conference in my other letter but all I have to say was that Session 2 was FANTASTIC! I've been doing really well. Just realized today that its October 6 and that means another month has come and gone! Crazy!
Arturo came to the first 2 sessions of conference and t-voed the rest of them since he was going up to his wife's this weekend and wasn't sure if he could convince her to go with him so he could watch it all later. He loved it! He really like Pres Uchtdorf's talk about hope! Anyway, he had his interview and he's ready to go!
The records are in and... Pedro is a MEMBER! lol it took us all week to get the bishop up to the church to find out but, he is a member. That's good. Now we can just focus on reactivating him and with Rafael and Arturo, that shouldn't be too hard for him! These guys are so awesome! I love them all!
Eliseo came to the Sunday morning session of conference. We FINALLY got Miguel, his brother, to make him talk to us and he told us he's been feeling really guilty. We told him that he needs to repent and start going to church again! So he did! We are so happy and are so excited to introduce him to our new group of Hombres!
We are so excited for Arturo to get baptized this Saturday and see him confirmed on Sunday. We know he's really excited too. I think Conference really helped him a lot too!
I'm doing really well, sorry this is short and kinda all over the place but I'm almost out of time! I love you all! Hope all is going well!

Buenas Dias Noticias - Can you believe that it's already October? I can't! Hermana Dastrup has been so excited for this month to arrive. Halloween is her favorite holiday. How is everyone? Did everyone enjoy General Conference as much as I did?
I really enjoyed the second session when Elder Wirthlin, Elder Holland, Elder Christopherson and Elder Bednar spoke. There were a couple of themes I noticed in this conference - 1) We need to prepare Zion, and 2) we need to be positive through our afflictions and trials. In California, you can really see that people are struggling and passing through difficult times. Even when we are passing through hard times, we must remember to stay positive and as Elder Wirthlin said, "Laugh!" We also need to be mindful of others. As we serve others, we will find more happiness in our own trials and afflictions.
As for preparing Zion, this starts with a change in our hearts and our mindset as a group. They spoke a lot about service to one another, finding more unity and having hope. We indeed are in these, the latter days, and the time to prepare is now. We must move forward with hope, charity and love, in faith and in unity to prepare the world for that great day when Christ shall come again and tell us the work is done.
I know these men were inspired by God and their words were exactly what we needed to hear at this time. I am so grateful for a living prophet on the earth today and for twelve apostles. they truly are men called of God to lead and guide us so that we can prepare ourselves to stand before our maker once again, clean and unspotted from the world; and this is possible only through our Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
I love you all and hope you have a great week!

HOLA! September 29, 2008
Guess who the Bishop wants to call as our new ward mission leader!!! GUESS!!! RAFAEL! He's going to be so awesome! Only down side to this is now we are going to have to share him with the other Elders! He doesn't even know he's being called to serve as the mission leader and the Elders have already started using him, without out asking. Stinkers!
Arturo is doing awesome. He's still really excited for his baptism in a couple weeks and he's so eager to share the gospel with his wife! Every time we go over to see him for our daily contact or teach him, he looks happier and happier! It's a complete 180 from a couple months ago when we had to drop him! He's so cool!
We are still waiting to hear if Pedro is a member but he has committed to live the word of wisdom and reluctantly let us walk away the other day with his coffee to throw away! People can be really attached to their coffee!
We have been teaching Pedro's nephew and his nephew's girlfriend/mother of his son as well! That's going well except for the fact that he told us, in front of her I might add, that he doesn't love her and is only with her because of their son. They both want to be baptized but if he's not willing to marry her (she's willing), then she has to move out before they can get baptized. It's really hard and it was REALLY hard to tell her that the other night but she said she was going to pray about what to do and talk with him as well. In the long run, we know (and I think she does too) that it's for the better if he really doesn't love her! Hopefully they'll figure it all out soon!
How did everyone (Mom and Kate) like the Women's Broadcast the other night? I thought it was really good! I especially loved Pres. Uchtdorf's talk on Creating and Compassion. It was really good and gives you a lot of food for thought. Sister Dastrup and I were talking about what we got out of the talk and how we thought a lot about how we can create things both physically and spiritually like a smile or the atmosphere of our home or the spirit that we radiate! I really liked his talk!
One last note for you all before I go! I heard that Sister Pray went home about 2 months out into the mission field. I don't know why but I got permission to send her an email so I'm going to say good bye for now! I love you all and I hope all is well!

Buenas Dias Noticias - The weeks are flying by! It's so crazy! Elder Flanders was kind enough to remind me, or rather bring to my attention, that I won't be seeing these days as a missionary again! Thanks for that reminder! ;) But the time really is flying by so fast and before I know it, it's going to be transfers again. Crazy!
I am so excited for General Conference this coming weekend! The Relief Society session for women was really good and made me that muchmore excited to hear the prophet and apostles speak again, along with other church leaders. All of our investigators seem really excited to hear the prophet speak. I hope everyone can listen to at least one session of General Conference this weekend, if not all. It's going to be a good one!
One of the things that was said at the women's conference last Saturday has really been making me think alot. President Uchtdorf, second counselor of the first presidency, talked about creating and compassion. He said that everyone has a natural desire to want to create something and he talked about how we can create things like planting a garden ore creating a masterpiece of a meal; but we can also create beauty around us, like bringing a smile to someone's face, or the attitude we have and the atmosphere and spirit we can bring into our homes through our compassion. It was a really good talk. I hope everyone will try and do something to brighten someone else's day and make the world a more beautiful place around you!
