Another week in the mission. I can't believe next week are transfers; it's crazy to think about! Sister Turley goes home in a week and I only have 3 transfers left! THAT'S SO crazy! I have never seen a year fly by so fast! It seems like just yesterday Sister Dastrup and I were heading on down to Stocton, but really that was 10.5 months ago!
Yesterday was probably my last regular Sunday in the Delta Ward. I don't really think any of us realized that until after church! Next week is general conference! I am so excited to hear the prophet and apostles speak again! It's probably my most favorite time of the year!
Last week we had a district blitz in our area since things have kinda been a little slow. We didn't have a ton of luck with new people to teach, BUT we did have a miracle. We found an in-active family on our ward list without any contact information whatsoever. Sister Vili (Sister Turley's companion) and I (we were on 24 hour exchanges) were tracting in an apartment complex, and we ended up finding them loading up their car with stuff to sell at the pulga. We spoke with them for a few minutes and found out that they had stopped coming to church when their 5 year old daughter passed away from cancer. We set up a return appointment and Sister McCleve and I went back over on Friday to get to know them a little better. We had a very powerful, spirit-guided lesson, on the power of the Atonement - not only in cleansing us from sin but also the comforting power of the Atonement (Alma 7:11-13). He ended up crying and she said she wanted to come back to church. The only problem is that they sell a lot of their stuff at the flea market on Sunday and we weren't able to resolve that concern in the little time that we had with them. Hopefully we can get them to come to General Conference this week! That would be awesome!
We decided to hand Irene over to the Elders on Friday. Since Saul and Maria moved out of our area, we got special permission to keep working with her. But during weekly planning, we both decided that we should hand her over to the Elders. We can't really push her anymore because she is too comfortable with us now! But it didn't really matter much anyway; she ended up heading back to Fresno to stay with her other son and daughter there because she has to take care of some health stuff with her doctors down there. I'm gonna miss that woman! She's so funny; she told me that she'd be seeing me in Mexico when I come down to visit her and look for my Ranchero husband! I told her I might be married before then and she just laughed and told me that I better invite her to the wedding! She's so funny. I hope you get the opportunity to meet her. She is a truly amazing woman!
Today we have another Sister's get-together at the mission home, so that should be interesting. None of us are too terribly excited about going, but this was only after we found out the rest of the Zone is doing a District Volleyball tournament! That sounds so fun but, it will be great to see all the sisters again as well.
Well, I hope you all have a wonderful week! I love you all oodles and oodles and I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well! Until next TUESDAY (Transfers), have a great day!
Love Always-
Hermana Bradfield
